Brandi: the laser discharges certain parts (the letters and images that you are going to print)on the revolving cylinder. The toner will stick the the discharged parts.

Greg: 8 1/2 by 11

John: basically, the toner is very cheap and it lasts a long time as opposed to inkjet cartriges that are pricey and have to be replaced often.

Taylor: the toner is the "ink" It has different pigments in it that create the color.

Kyle: A rough paper will scatter the light in many directions, making it less clear. Smooth paper reflects light in the same direction making it appear brigher.

Christopher: inkjet printers are more commonly used at homes and laser printers are more common in office buildings.

Billy: Depends on what you mean by better. Laser printers are good if you want speed, inkjet printers will get the job done, it just takes longer and may not look as nice but theyre cheaper

William: I dont know of a most common PART to fail, but common problems are paper jams and running out of ink.

Eric: It just depends on the brand of printer you buy. I know that Canon and Hewlett-Packard both use heat.

Jen: Probably only once in a great while.

Amy: Most paper is okay as long as it is the right size.

Nathan: The ink is basically the same, although it can vary. Ink cartriges are different sizes to fit different printers, though.

Renee: Different brands are better for certain things; if you want to buy cheap you might buy a certain one, if you was better quality, another brand. HP and Lexmark are two common brands out today.

Matt: Good question. As far as I know its mostly a lot of different pigments.

Adam: You determine how fast you will run out of ink, If you rarely print, then ink will last longer. If you print often, then ink will run out faster. Ink cartriges for injet printers typically dont last as long as the toner for laser printers do.

Brian: Im assuming you mean the first electronic printer. I dont know when the 1st printer was invented but I believe the first mass marketed printer was made by HP and came out in 1984.
